Story of the shirt:
This beauty of a Sevilla shirt designed by Umbro utilises one of the British designer's all time classic templates, one famously used by England during the era. However it also carries the infamous 'Marbella' sponsorship, a deal masterminded by Jesús Gil y Gil, the legendarily dodgy ex-President of Atlético Madrid/Mayor of Marbella as a part of the transfer of one Diego Simeone from Sevilla to Atleti. Incredibly, Atleti also had the Marbella sponsorship at that time, with both deals alledgedly based on shady use of public money! In 94/95 Sevilla had a great season, finishing 5th and in the UEFA Cup places, however off-field problems at the end of the season very nearly resulted in the club's enforced relagtion from La Liga, and Los Blanquirrojos started a period of decline that led to eventual relegation two seasons later.
