Story of the shirt:
This unbelievable purple pinger from Kelme was worn by Madrid for two seasons between 1994 and 1996, surely yhe golden era of the brand. It features an official nameset print of powerful Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who joined the club in the summer of 1996. As eagle-eyed spotters may therefore have noticed, Seedorf never actually wore this design, as after he arrived it was updated to a similar purple kit for the 96/97 season. In fact, the Kelme nameset printed on this shirt is the official number and lettering from the 97/98 season, suggesting that the previous owner had it applied a few years after buying the shirt. For some this may be a put off, and each to their own, but for us this is still a banging design with an unbelievable player name on the back, so who cares?!
