Story of the shirt:
This unbelievable purple pinger from Kelme was worn by Madrid for two seasons between 1994 and 1996, surely the golden era of the brand. In the first of those two seasons, 94/95, Madrid were at their strongest, winning La Liga after bolstering their midfield with the controversial signing of Michael Laudrup direct from Barcelona, and picking up Fernando Redondo from S.D. Tenerife. Meanwhile, striker Ivan Zamorano scored 28 goals, enough to earn him the Pichichi Trophy for the league's top scorer. Perhaps most interestingly though – for the Madridistas at least – was the emergence of a new, young strike partner for Zamorano, a 17 year old named Raúl...
