Story of the shirt:

This incredible Kappa designed Porto home shirt was either worn or prepared for talented Portuguese right winger Sérgio Conceição. We know it's a match issue shirt due to the sublimated Kappa nameset – meaning the name and number are printed directly within the material rather than being a plastic or flock print added later via a heat press. Another match issue feature is the sublmimated Campeonato Nacional da Primeira Divisão crest on the right arm, which signifies that Porto were winners of that competition the season previous (in fact they won it 5 years running from 94-99). Although this amazing Kappa design was worn by the club for two consecutive seasons between 1997 and 1999, we know it's from the 97/98 season because Conceição left the club in 1998 to join Lazio in Serie A. Finally, one other detail to note is that this shirt was specifically made for use in the Taça de Portugal (the Portuguese Cup), and therefore does not feature the Portuguese League patch on the left arm, and it's worth noting that Porto actually went on to win the Taça de Portugal in the 97/98 season, making this a title-winning shirt! A true gem.
