Story of the shirt:
I mean, you’ve got to hand it to Lotto, the sheer audacity of it. They rocked up at one of the big boys like a plucky non-league side on a decent cup run with nothing to lose, and just went all out, straight up changing Parma’s home colours from white to a controversial blue and yellow. Presumably to appease the Ultras, they produced this beautiful away shirt in the club's traditional white and yellow colours, and it very much does not disappoint. Plus, they decided to occasionally stick the team’s young superstar Gianluigi Buffon in it as well, not even bothering with a separate goalkeeper shirt design. Meanwhile, the outfield squad was frankly outrageous, boasting the likes of Juan Sebastián Verón, Hernan Crespo, Tino Asprilla, Fabio Cannavaro and Liliam Thuram. Ouch. And for these reasons alone, this shirt is and was an instant classic.
