Story of the shirt:
Probably the most classic Newcastle shirt ever, this legendary Adidas effort was worn by the club across two seasons, one of which – 95/96 – has remained infamous on Tyneside ever since. With Kevin Keegan as manager, the Magpies stormed to a 12 point lead by January, and looked odds on for the title with 15 games to go. However a collection of poor performances and dropped points allowed Man United to play an unprobable game of catch up, and somehow Newcastle were eventually pipped to the title by just 4 points on the final day of the season, robbing them of what would have been their first league win since 1927.
