Condition: 9/10 (there's a couple of bobbles and two sections of very slight discoloration to the material, incredibly faint and not really visible in the photos. The 'Adidas Equipment' logo has faded from it's original colour slightly over time)

Story of the shirt:
Marseille wore this spectacular and historic shirt in the 92/93 season, a successful year for the club on paper that was ultimately tarnished by controversy. The club 'won' the league title, but later it emerged that Bernard Tapie, the president, and Jean-Pierre Bernè, the general manager, had bribed a number or players from Valenciennes, their opponents in a must-win final match of the season. The reason? Marseille had the European Cup final against the mighty AC Milan six days later, and wanted to be fresh as possible. The won the match against Valenciennes at a canter (1-0), and therefore the title, and then went on to win the European Cup final too. Two weeks later, however, the scandal came to light, and Marseille were stripped of their league title and demoted to the second division. Incredibly, they were allowed to keep their European Cup trophy, however, in a move that surely would not be tolerated in this day and age! Whichever way you look at it, it's fair to say this is a shirt with a history.
