Story of the shirt:
This was Marseille's away shirt design for the 09/10 season, which saw the French side lift Ligue 1 for the first time in 18 years. Led by the inimitable Didier Deschamps in his first season in charge of Le Phocéen, they also won the Coupe de la Ligue – their first since 1992. Senegalese striker and captain Mamadou Niang had a great season, finishing as both the club and the league's top scorer. Meanwhile – somewhat unbelievably – arch rivals PSG finished 13th in Ligue 1 that year.
