Story of the shirt:
A rarity these days – even in 2007 – Man Utd wore this home shirt design for two seasons running between 07/09. The 07/08 season saw the Red Devils win both the Premier League and the Champions League, defeating Chelsea on penalties in the final in this very shirt design. In 08/09 they also won the league, the Club World Cup and the League Cup, but lost in the final of the Champions League 2-0 to Barcelona. Cristiano Ronaldo, featured on the back of this shirt, finished top scorer in the Premier League in 07/08, scoring 31 goals (42 in all competitions).
