Story of the shirt:

Lyon started the 08/09 season as defending champions in Ligue 1, boasting an amazing array of talent on their books – including a few future superstars. Captained by legendary diminutive Brazilian Juninho and featuring Karim Benzema up front, Miralem Pjanic in midfield and Hugo Lloris in goal, Lyon were a force to be reckoned with. Also in the squad there was Alexandre Lacazette, Kim Källström and Sidney Govou. However despite the talent on offer, the side only managed a 3rd place finish in Ligue 1 and failed to collect any silverware elsewhere, including in the Champions League where they exited at the hands of Barcelona.
