Story of the shirt:
The Catalan national team is an anomaly amongst international sides. A team that has only played 147 matches in its history, that doesn't even always play every year, yet has often had a squad that would be capable of beating many other 'official' national teams. However it should be noted that, due to the fact they are not recognised by FIFA or UEFA, the side has been able to feature 'guest' appearances from non-Catalans over the years – including Andres Iniesta, Johan Cruyff and even Alfredo de Stefano! This excellent Puma design was worn – for definite – during the side's emphatic 5-0 victory against Nigeria at the Estadio Olímpico de Montjuïc. Details online regarding other matches during this era are scant, with the side only playing 4 times in total between 1997 and 2000.
