Story of the shirt:

This incredibly rare shirt is the match issue version of Nike's iconic 98/99 Barcelona home shirt, issued to mercurial winger Luis Figo. It is not known whether this specific shirt was worn by the great man – it could well have been – but it was certainly created especially to be worn by him during a game. The match issue details of the shirt that prove its authenticity include the lack of the square Nike size patch and 'Nike Fit' logo on the lower front, the player issue size lettering and numbering on the back and the fact that the 'Nike Fit' logo is on the inside of the shirt below the sizing details. On the pitch the side were victorious in La Liga, retaining their title for the second consecutive season, but won little else. Figo himself played 50 matches across the season, netting 9 times from his usual wide role on the wing. Despite these days being recognised only as a Judas figure amongst a large portion of the devoted Barça fans after his controversial move to arch rivals Real Madrid in 2000, it's fair to say that up to that point he was amongst the best to ever wear the famous Blaugrana jersey.
