Story of the tracksuit:
The unforgettable tracksuit design from Reebok was used in an utterly forgettable season for Atléti, who suffered a humiliating relegation from La Liga to La Segunda División – despite a squad including Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Juan Carlos Valerón and captain Kiko – and Claudio Ranieri as head coach. Ranieri was sacked in early March due to poor results, and despite going on to reach the final of the Copa del Rey, losing 1-2 to Espanyol, new coach Fernando Zambrano was unable to rescue Los Colchoneros from the inevitable.
