Story of the shirt:

Iconic Atléti shirt used by Simeone, Kiko and co in the 96/97 season. After the club won the double the previous season, Japanese toy-maker Bandai splashed the cash on a sponsorship deal which was part of the campaign to promote their 'digital pet' Tamagotchi in Europe, and the goalkeeper shirt features the logo of that specific product emblazoned across the chest. On the pitch, club President and general gangster Jesús Gil and his coach Radomir Antić led the side to a lukewarm 5th place finish, and a Champions League quarter final exit against Ajax.
