Story of the shirt:
After unexpectedly finishing as La Liga runners up the previous year, Athletic Bilbao began the 98/99 season by unveiling this typically Kappa version of their classic red and white striped home shirt. The side's crack at the time was the powerful Ismail Urzaiz, whose 16 league goals earned the striker a call up to the Spanish national side. However the highlight of the season came in an impressive 1-0 away win against Real Madrid when – wearing this very shirt design – a Santiago Ezquerro strike not only embarrassed Los Blancos on their own turf, but also won the club's goal of the season award in the process. No idea who 'Aparicio' was, but he sounds like a hot young prospect from the Athletic academy who devastatingly never quite made it due to recurring calf injury and a severe cocaine addiction. Just tell people that anyway, no one looks that shit up.
